PARIS, 27 April 2023. Noctua Care has been awarded second prize ex aequo at the Prix Bertrand Pivin 2023, following the jury held on 27 April. The prize is organised by the Fondation de l’École polytechnique.

Three projects were named laureates in the sixth edition: Orakl took first prize, with Noctua Care and HUVY sharing second. The jury chose to recognise innovations in health across this year’s awards.

Noctua Care was presented by co-founders Hugo Weidmann (M 2021) and Alexander Dmoch (M 2022), both graduates of the Master X-HEC Entrepreneurs programme. The company is developing the first multidisciplinary digital companion for patients affected by a cardiovascular event, supporting them continuously from intensive care through to return to working life.

The platform is built on daily support across six domains: treatment, psychology, nutrition, adapted physical activity, intimacy, and socio-professional support. The intervention is delivered through three channels: on-demand content for information, relaxation, exercise and cooking; online workshops and messaging with specialised practitioners and other patients; and self-monitoring tools. Noctua Care initially targets patients with coronary disease, with the intention of extending to other arterial pathologies.

Created in 2018 through the generosity of Bertrand Pivin (X 1980), the prize promotes the teaching of technological innovation among students of École polytechnique and Institut Polytechnique de Paris, and supports the emergence of entrepreneurial projects with high potential and societal impact.
